The IFBT Tour Continues with the April Dania Beach Tennis Open

womens doubles winersIFBT-USA held the April 21st Dania Beach Tennis Open, in beautiful South Florida. The categories that took place were Men's and Women's Doubles, Men's and Women's Singles, and Mixed Doubles. This was the final tournament before IFBT-USA's 5th annual 2013 Deerfield Beach World Cup. Many young players made a statement that they will soon be on the international stage.

In the Men's Doubles finals, Rick Simeon and Mike Jean-Pierre outlasted Daniel Gaspari and Max Cecchi in an exciting tie-breaker to win the title 8-7. Rocky and Collin Catman made a nice run to the Semi-Finals as did Renzo Fabiani and Pablo Perez.
womens doubles winersThe Women's Doubles tournament was thrilling with many close matches. Adrienne Cerra Simeon and Nahitza Padro defeated Sofia Ponce and Pilar Lavadinho 7-3 in the finals. They had to win 5 matches to clinch the title. The other two teams to make the semi-finals were Samantha Barea and Erika Ponce and the team of Alex and Nicole Luzbel.
The day continued on the men's side with Erik Gomez and Jessie Ascunce winning the Men's A Division over Anthony Luzbel and Joey Nieves 7-1.
mixed doublesIn the Mixed Doubles category, Adrienne Cerra Simeon and Rick Simeon took another 1st place gold, defeating top team of Nicole Luzbel and Jesse Ascunce in the finals.
The Men's Singles event is always one of the most popular and once again had a big draw. Rick Simeon beat first time finalist Collin Catman 6-1 in the Singles Finals, taking home 3 gold medals in one day! Catman had a stunning win in the Semi-Final as he defeated #17 world ranked Scott Kathary. Catman showed he will be a rising star on tour soon. Pablo Perez of Deerfield Beach was the other Semi-finalist.
Adrienne Cerra Simeon won her 3rd 1st place medal of the day, with the Women's Singles event defeating up and coming player Erika Ponce. Julie Ascunce and Vicky Rotunno fought their way through to the Semi-Finals.
The tournament had great energy from the players and the crowd. The tour now continues to the 5th annual Beach Tennis World Cup on May 17-19 in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
