nathyrachel2Belo Horizonte (Brazil) hosted its second international beach tennis event from January 31st - February 2nd. It was the first tournament of the year at the "On The Beach" courts. The team of Vinicius Chaparro and Pedro Rogar took the Men's division championship with a 6-2 6-4 victory over Marc Morgenroth and João Paulo Nunan.

Adao Chagas and Gemma Egea named 2013 IFBT World Rankings Champions

world champions 2013For the second consecutive year, Adao Chagas (Brazil) and Gemma Egea (Catalonia) have been crowned the IFBT World Rankings Champions in doubles. Chagas completed the season with 1885 points to lead the men's category. He competed in the top tournaments on the IFBT circuit to include; Marina di Ravenna, Deerfield Beach, Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, Cancun and Balneario de Carolina. Egea topped the women's category with a total of 1405 points. She won the gold medal at the World Championship in Marina di Ravenna, Silver at the European Championship in Barcelona and competed in other tournaments to include Las Palmas (Canary Islands) and December's G-1 event in Barcelona.

mixtesCatalan players winners of the IV Torneo Internacional Villa de San Andrés de Gym Racket, competed on synthetic turf tracks at CN Sant Andreu, where Gerard Rodriguez and Antonio Ridao won in the finalsagainst the Italian team of Davide Aloisi and Eugenio Casadio.
The women's finals were all Catalan teams and repeated the results of the Championship of Catalonia, where the team of Begoña de Toro y Tania González once again defeated the world champions Gemma Egea and Laura Herrero.
