It turned out to be a very special return to Beach Tennis after two years for Marie-Pier Huet of Canada. Saturday started with gusty winds but that was no problem for the more than 50 players who came to compete and enjoy Beach Tennis life. Singles was the first category that saw Marie-Pier Huet win her first title and Adil Medina from Marrocco winning on the Men’s side. Men’s and Women’s Doubles followed with Marie-Pier Huet and Ana Archer Amoroso (POR) taking the gold as did American Marty Salokas and the Argentinian Felipe Marroquin. Sunday started late as rain delayed the Mixed Doubles action. The sun finally came out in force and the heat was welcomed. Mixed Doubles saw Marie-Pier Huet and Glenn Neven win the gold against a tough team of Mathilde Trigaux (BEL) & Hugo Maurice from France. Marie-Pier Huet was also named tournament MVP (most valuable player). The tournament also highlighted the launch of the Canadian Beach Tennis Association (CBTA) that will govern Beach Tennis in Canada and promote the beautiful game of Beach Tennis.
